Este proyecto fotográfico busca retratar la práctica de la danza Butoh en México como un acontecimiento corporal que habita el umbral del tiempo suspendido.
This photographic project seeks to portraythe practice of Butoh dance in Mexico asa bodily event that inhabits the threshold of suspended time.
Nos mueve el umbral del tiempo suspendido. El cuerpo es una danza viva que refleja la penumbra de Kairós, cada gesto es un eco de algo antiguo e invisible, un presagio de lo que es más nuestro, la piel, lenguaje de lo inefable, destino hacia la otra danza, la del rito, la revelación, y la resurrección. La danza Butoh no mide el tiempo, lo pliega, lo desgarra, lo ofrenda. Y en ese abismo el tiempo es el cuerpo, el destino.
We are moved by the threshold of suspended time.
The body is a living dance that reflects the penumbra of Kairos; each gesture is an echo of something ancient and invisible, a presage of what is most our own. The skin, a language of the ineffable, a destiny toward the other dance—the dance of ritual, revelation, and resurrection.
Butoh dance does not measure time; it folds it, tears it open, offers it. And in that abyss, time is the body, the destiny.
