Rod es un director y artista multidisciplinario egresado de Comunicación Visual por el Tecnológico de Monterrey, Campus Ciudad de México. Su trabajo explora la relación entre mente, cuerpo y naturaleza, y abarca cine, televisión, artes visuales y escritura.
Su ópera prima, La voz arcana del corazón, se estrenó en DocsMX 2023 y ganó como Mejor Documental en el FINCI 2024. También ha presentado cortometrajes como Ansiedad y Deseo (FICM 2021) y Camellos en la Arena (Shorts Mexico y Fotogenia, 2020). Su pieza Para el recuerdo fue parte de la exposición Hilando rituales, Biyuu en el Museo Franz Mayer y ganó el concurso FILmamos del festival FIL Guadalajara 2023.
En televisión, ha dirigido para plataformas como Netflix (La venganza de las juanas), Amazon Prime (La Bandida) y Disney+ (Verne: La isla misteriosa). Es fundador del sello editorial Espíritu, que debutó con la novela gráfica VA. Desde 2023 practica Butoh, influencia presente en su cortometraje Sobre los finales, presentado en Fifth Wall Fest 2024 y seleccionado por el INBAL para Danzas pluriversales 2025.
Actualmente, imparte clases de dirección de actores y producción documental en el Tecnológico de Monterrey.

He is the founder of Espíritu, an independent publishing imprint that launched with the graphic novel VA. Since 2023, he has practiced Butoh, a performance discipline that inspired his short film On Endings, presented at Fifth Wall Fest 2024 and selected by INBAL for Pluriversal Dances during International Dance Day 2025.
He currently teaches actor direction and documentary production at Tecnológico de Monterrey.
